Reader Licencing at Birmingham Cathedral

Fr Patrick writes…

On the 2 March 2019 Bishop David admitted and licenced eight new Readers.  Among them was Clare Kimpton (on the Bishop’s left) who was licenced to Lapworth and Baddesley Clinton.

It was a wonderful service in the Cathedral, with memorable sermon by the Dean, the Very Revd Matt Thompson, who speculated on what could possibly have been so lovely about the feet of Isaiah 53: 7 !  At least 25 people from Lapworth and Baddesley Clinton came to support Clare, and we, along with her family, we got a good photo under the Charles Gore statue.

Clare Kimpton adds…

I would like to thank everyone, from both parishes, for their messages of support and good wishes upon my licensing.  It was particularly wonderful to see so many of you there at the Cathedral on the Saturday and I pray that in the time to come I will repay your trust.
