Bishop Esther is from Malawi, but grew up mainly in Zimbabwe. She came to England to study theology in 1999 and was ordained in 2003. Since her curacy she has served as a School Chaplain, a Young Offenders’ Prison Chaplain, a Team Vicar in Farnborough and as Vicar of Egham. She was installed as Bishop of Aston at a memorable service in Birmingham Cathedral on 3rd May 2025.
Bishop Esther brings a charismatic spirituality to the Diocese. Her worship is Spirit led and she often seems to be dancing! Bishop Esther will be leading our Mothering Sunday worship at Baddesley Clinton and Lapworth on 15th March. I am very excited that she is coming to visit.
