If you have attended or visiting St Mary’s Church, you will have noticed how beautifully the church is decorated throughout the year (including weddings) with floral arrangements created by members of the Flower Guild.
Many of the Flower Guild members have been involved for a number of years and some are now retiring, hence we need to invite new, budding or aspiring flower arrangers to join us.
It is not essential that you have previous experience as we would be willing to share our skills, but there are also many other ways in which you could help such as collecting foliage (an essential part of flower arranging), watering, tidying up etc.
We are a friendly group of ladies with a passion for flowers and usually meet each Friday morning to arrange flowers, with of course, an essential coffee break. We have regular meetings to agree a rota and often members will arrange flowers on days to suit them but usually a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
If you would like to know more about the Flower Guild and may consider joining our group, our longstanding group leader, Margaret Bradnock (Tel. No. 07971 871605) who would be delighted to hear from you or you could just pop into St Mary’s any Friday morning from 10.30 and meet some of the ladies. You would be made very welcome.
Flower arranging is both fun and therapeutic and joining the Flower Guild would offer an opportunity to make new friends, perhaps learn new skills and be part of a friendly, supportive team.
